Super duper foods

Let's talk superfoods. Superfoods are taking the world by storm. There are ancient powders, fermented, slow pressed, cold pressed, dehydrated super this and super that. Don't get me wrong I love a good superfood as much as the next, my personal favourites right now are Maca powder and Chlorella. Today I want to remind you about some amazing humble superfoods that you can add to your repertoire without the high price tag or extensive food miles.
Cabbage. Cabbage is so super. It is nutritious, delicious and at only a few dollars for an organic cabbage (please try and find organic as glyphosate is not a superfood). You can eat cabbages raw, make coleslaw, make those beautiful Japanese pancakes Okonomiyaki or ferment into sauerkraut. Another few of my favourite local superfoods are mushrooms, broccoli, onion, garlic, winter root vegetables actually any in season local organic vegetables. It can be easy to forget how super vegetables are as we rush around in our busy lives and it may seem like you are nourishing yourself with bottles of super goodness, and sure there is times when bottles and packets of super goodness are just what we need, just don't forget about about humble locally grown organic superfoods. Sometimes nourishment isn't exotic. Sometimes it's simply what's growing in season close to home.
